Malignant Mesothelioma Diagnosis is very hard to achieve, because two main reasons, first one because the symptoms of malignant mesothelioma take very long time "30 to 50 years" to appear. The second reason because mesothelioma symptoms are very similar to symptoms of other common diseases.

Mesothelioma diagnosis is the first operation for doctors to choose the most suitable treatment option. To increase the mesothelioma survival rate doctors must diagnose mesothelioma very fast.

The most important two problems with mesothelioma diagnosis. 1- The symptoms of that type of cancer take very long time to appear after the first exposure to Asbestos, it may take (35 - 50) years to appear on the patient. 2- The second problem that make the diagnosis of mesothelioma cancer very hard is the fact of being the symptoms of mesothelioma are very similar to other common diseases.

To get mesothelioma diagnosed, doctors must use something like x-rays or (CTA) scans to discover any abnormal activities in the tested part. For pleural cavity, x-rays and (CTA) scan will used to discover any tumors on the pleura "The lung lining".

The presence of tumors makes abnormal activity in the pleural cavity, something like Pleural Effusion "excess fluid that accumulates in the region between the outer and the inner pleural membranes" cases shortness of breath, and this may help in mesothelioma diagnosis.

Thoracoscope: An instrument that is used by mesothelioma doctors to take a look in the pleural cavity, if they see anything abnormal, doctors may have to cut out a piece from the pleural tissue to examine it. This operation called "peritoneoscopy"

peritoneoscope: The same operation that have been made with the pleural cavity "peritoneoscopy" will be made with the abdominal cavity by using "peritoneoscope" to insure if the cancer spread to the peritoneum "the outer membranes surround the internal organs of the abdomen" or not.

Doctors also may cut out a piece from the peritoneum if they discover any abnormal activities in that region to examine it.
